Vitamin A: The Skincare Champion Ingredient

Everyone talks about retinol and it's amazing benefits for the skin.

So many of my clients constantly ask me for more information about this wonder ingredient. Introducing retinol!

Our skin is exposed to many external factors each day including pollution and sun light which is can cause a breakdown of the skin’s collagen. This breakdown then results in a loosening of elasticity and this is why we start to see those dreaded lines, wrinkles and an uneven skin tone.

Vitamin A is the heavy weight champion in a skincare routine to fight wrinkles and acne.

There are different forms of Vitamin A; retinol & retinaldehyde are probably the most common ones but also prescription Vitamin A is quite popular.

Many clients who use retinol report that they experience dehydrated and flaky skin as a result and are prone to light sensitivity.

Basically, not a great experience.

Besides, skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and rosacea are not able to able to use it at all but there are alternatives available.

The good news is that there are forms of Vitamin A Esters which strengthen, repair and thicken the skin without the dehydration and irritation. They are known to be a more gentle alternative to a retinol.

If you have previously used a harsh retinol on your skin or it's not in the best condition or you generally don't know what condition your skin is in, the best way to find out is with an ultrasound scan. Fancy.

We look forward to offering these again in the future for our clients when we can be sure it's a safe environment. In the interim, I am offering complimentary skin consultations online to assess your skin's condition and what ingredients and regimes will be best suited to your needs.

If you're looking to improve the quality of your skin and/or are overwhelmed by all the different steps and options out there for a routine, this is a great way to get an understanding of what ingredients and products will help you see your best skin days!

At Belameres, we offer 2 strengths of Vitamin A available here at our online store: The Super3 Booster Night Cream and The Clinical3 Clinical Booster Night cream. The Clinical3 Booster is only available at Belameres due to the potency of the Vitamin A.
